No family, no parent should have to experience the loss of a child to cancer. I continue to fight for this cause so that a cure can be found.

I do this so other families do not have to fight for their child’s life.

I do this so that they do not have to experience the loss of a child.

I do this because I can.

Why do I do what I do?
My friends and co-workers have asked me this question before. They always say “Your daughter is not sick, she doesn’t have cancer, why do you devote you time to doing this” I thank God everyday for the health of my daughter however if she were to ever get sick, I would want to know that there are others out there that would do what I do, to help me find cures for her, to give me more time with her, to help me save my daughters life and let her live out all the plans, dreams and hopes I have for her. Also I am not a doctor, a researcher, or a politician. So I spend my time working with Friends of Allie to do my part to make the world a better place. I do events such as Light the Night to help find cures, to help save lives. If you ask me, spending a few extra minutes a day helping save a life is a pretty good way to spend you time.

What was it about Allie?
My daughter was born in Nov 21, ’03 so she was just a month older than Allie. So that kind of drew me in at first. However it was love at first site when I saw those deep blue eyes. Allie’s eyes were windows to her beautiful soul. Those eyes shined like the star she is! Even through all she endured during her battle she still had that wonderfully innocent grin through it all and those kissable baby fat rolls! Jenny’s words were spokes so eloquently and honestly through the words of a desperate mother trying to save her child. As a new mother myself those words struck my heart deep, and I agonized for her because I could only imagine the pain she felt. I realized it could as easily been my daughter and my family going through this horrible nightmare.
