I like “Pediatric Cancer Research - Why Is It Important?” because it shows the names of many who have done so much for this cause and, seeing what they have done, gives hope for the future.

  4. Peter Says:

A Beautiful Future of Life Lived; Not A Life Lost is a truly remarkable post. She is expressing herself with grace and humility. A woman has lost her precious child, but can have memories of him through the kindness and consideration of others. People cared enough to make her feel not alone, but surrounded by thoughtful people who would not let her be alone. Death is never the answer for the young child who will always be missed and a future not fulfilled. Memories of will never take the place of a child, but memories of others who made the passing with dignity and honor will help this poor woman.

  5. Marilyn Wons Says:

Not a Life Lost was my favorite article because it touched me so.

  6. Christie Says:

The post titled Pediatric Cancer Research struck me the most and I feel it is the most important because children suffering cancer are the most innocent of all those stricken with the disease. They have lived such a short time and they deserve to live longer and actually LIVE that time, not just survive it day by day. Live it fully without the shadows and the fears.

  7. Jennifer Barnett Says:

I particularly like the article on Pediatric Cancer research and why it is important.

  8. Carol Says:

A Beautiful Future of Life Lived; Not A Life Lost — What a hopeful post! I think it is wonderful to celebrate the life, especially of a child, and not try and bury their memory.

  10. Tina Bridwell Says:

I have to say that my favorite post for the week is - Every Dollar Counts Towards a Cure! I am a member of a scrapbook club and twice a year we do fundraising by silent auction at our fall and spring retreats. We are always snacking around at these retreats so we could make additional $$$ there as well. This post had lots of helpful info for anyone interested in helping. I cannot wait to go to our fall retreat in October and tell them about this need.

  11. Deborah R Says:

  13. Teresa N. Says:

“How much of every dollar donated goes directly to
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission?”

    75 cents of every dollar

“If you were raising money for Light The Night,
which fundraising activity would you pick?”

My fundraising idea for Light The Night would be to get all my neighbors together and hold a huge bake sale.

Thank you for the great giveaway for such a worth while cause!

Walkathons have undoubtedly raised tremendous amount of money throughout the years for various causes and a lot of people participate in them; but how about taking it a little further and having a dance marathon?! I’ve been thinking about that one for a while and it would be interesting to see the outcome. Maybe a 24 hour dance marathon or until there’s one person or couple left and there could definitely be a trophy given to the last person or couple standing or some other big prize and then give other, smaller prizes out throughout the day and night. It would definitely be interesting to see!
This is such a good a idea and more people would have fun and maybe forget their trouble for awhile

My favorite was “Every dollar counts towards a cure”. It is dear to my heart because most people think they can’t give enough money to make a difference and that is so not true. Every dollar DOES count and if everyone in the US gave just $1 we would be so much closer to finding a cure.

  25. karissa Says:

Every post reminding me about pediatrics. I feel as though you see adults suffering but the children are usually confined with the disease, either to a hospital or to home, afraid (by the parents rightly) that they will get sick by their suppressed immune systems, adults are too stir crazy and know what it is like to have a life away from home.

it is so sad. I am so happy that their is a fight. I am part of it, and I have people like you to fight it with!

I have learned so much this past week from visiting this website and reading each day about all the different fundraising efforts available for curing Cancer, I have also learned so much about all the different kinds of research going on in order to work towards a cure for Cancer. Blogging for Cancer has been not only a learning experience, but a heart warming and gratifying effort. My favorite Blog and the one that had the most significant impact on me was Tuesday’s Blog about the “Light The Night for Blood Cancers”. I found out that there is a walk going on my my area just 15 minutes away from where I live. I have already formed a group of 26 people to join me in this event. We are still spreading the word here! If every person who participated in your blog on Tuesday followed the same steps as I did, can really make this entire event across the nation one HUGE SUCCESS!
