For Kids(This list will be updated periodically!) Jump-a-thon – This can be accomplished a couple of ways. Your child can collect a straight donation for participating or they can get a donation per jump. You can hold a big play date at your home with refreshments and have a big jump off. Read-a-thon – You can implement this with a play group or get your child school or class involved. Have a set amount of time that fundraiser will take place. Give about a week to get donations and then a week for the children to participate in the read-a-thon. Again donations can be by book or a straight donation. To include younger children, it can be for the number of books read to them during that week. Lemonade Stand – With this, you want to make sure to have information available to any patrons. Treat it as an Awareness Day, but driven by your children. Rake Leaves – For the older children, they can rake the leaves. For the younger children they can help put them in the bags. Don’t forget to allow time for leaf jumping! Also, please don’t forget to protect your children from ticks. Collect soda cans and recycle – The older children can do this. One suggestion is to have your children put a flyer in the neighborhood mailboxes asking them to save soda cans and bottles. Remind them to please rinse them. Give a set date that they will be picked up and a location they will be collected. Out by the mailbox might be best place. Doing extra chores – If your child doesn’t have any chores now might be the time to start implementing some. Even the littlest toddler can help out. They might not understand what is going on, but by including them, they are getting a sense of what is to come. Help weed the garden – This could also include your neighbors’ garden or landscaping. You could start this with a simple flyer also. Collect old toys and sell them at a yard sale – Many of us just have too much in your house. I know that my children do. So do me for that matter! If you ask your children if there is anything they would like to get rid of, I am sure they will say yes. This would go well with a yard sale of your own stuff. Collect Pennies – During the summer months, many of us see relatives. Why not see if they have pennies in their pockets or wallets. You will help them by taking some weight off while raise some money, one penny at a time! Children’s Olympics – This is with a lot of help from parents. The list with more to come is on the main fundraising list. Children can get donations for participating in the games. |
